IN WHOM MY HOPE IS SECURELY FOUND!

Fear stems from a belief that in the fray of battle abandonment is certain; that in famine, provisions will fail, in danger protection will not be found.  It draws its strength from the rooted suggestion that when risk is taken failure will be the payment. It pushes the heart away from the possibilities of victory and demands its focus to be grounded on worst case outcomes. For fear like faith is tangible, it is created in the realm of belief. Each a present reality that one can draw resources from. Faith and fear both storehouses with unending provision.

The tyranny of fear is that it builds its platform of power on that which is not true. It draws its mighty weapons against our hearts and makes its great case from the long list of past experience and personal insecurities woven into our stories. It swings relentlessly at our souls with one goal: to weaken our resolve to fight for a life worth living. It is out to separate us from our strength in God.

How do we break free? For unlike faith, at first, fear seems to be the bend of our hearts. If left alone we assume the worst. We drift back into the toxic beliefs that we are alone, and unequipped for battle. Our hearts quiver and our hope vanishes. How do we live with a holy rejection of this condition? How do we train our hands for battle and walk with the authority of a well worn warrior against fear? How do we attain the abundance of living with a mindset that is unconsciously and continuously flooded with faith-filled hope?

Like an ancient secret, or the slightly mystic practices of our worlds greatest warriors, the answer lies not in the obvious. Conquering fear is not about amassing a greater arsenal of weapons and personal strength. It is not in bearing down and talking ourselves out of our cowardice. No, for in this life there is an endless field of obstacles that give our souls reason to faint. The answer to gaining mastery over a life tragically dictated by fears rule is to find a greater source than it. The only answer large enough to overcome fears supply is to find a supply of strength much greater and pervasive. For fear thrives where security is scarce. True security is the antidote to fear. If one believes that no matter what comes, he will be covered, protected, and provided for in real time, fear cannot live.

Like fear however, this source must be as readily available as life’s difficulty. It cannot be a single down payment of security, for that could vanish like everything else. No the solution to fear must be a constant flow, an everyday, nearby, resource if it is going to effectively eradicate our hearts from the prison of lies found in fears hideout. It has to be a spring of water in a desert, not simply a large canteen. For a spring endlessly flows without regard to outward circumstances. A canteen on the other hand can be lost, spilt, and stolen.  The solution to fear It must be a source not a ration. It must be accessible quickly and in the heat of danger. Like a thirsty traveler, our souls cry out for the truth, longing for the discovery of this kind of freedom. Does it exist, we cry?

The words of Jesus rush violently into my soul with great excitement as the suggestion of them bring great hope to even our present hearts! A few thousand years ago our prime example stood in an act of great courage among a crowd of people who wanted Him dead and declared fearlessly, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

The stage was set, the answer to life’s great enemy revealed. The source of security exists! The treasure is found! “If anyone thirsts…COME.” No longer do we have to live in the land of drought created by fears rule, but we too can access an endless, presently available freely given stream of comfort, we can come to Jesus DAILY,  IN WHOM OUR HOPE IS SECURELY FOUND! He is just as alive today by Holy Spirit as he was when his feet walked across the threshold of the temple that day, thousands of years ago! We can cast our canteens to the wind, and feast our hearts on the spring of life. We can sit at his feet and allow Him to wash us with His truth. He is our support in the storm, the Lifter of our heads in discouragement and failure, our Ever Present Companion, He is the answer.

This is not some religious persuasion, to get you to yield to a set of rules, no this is the passion of my heart to communicate the hope I have found in my present friendship with Jesus. He truly is better than the array of religions have made him to be. He is more present than my fears, and the one who I run to in life. He is my very real victory, and my solid foundation. He’s the ammo of my heart when the lies of life swarm my mind, causing doubt to draw near. I am able to drink in the security I have found in Christ and slay the illusion of fears suggestions. I stand my ground not letting fear push my heart from God, focusing instead on the secret of my victory, My source of great security! Because of Him, I like many other wise warriors respond to his invitation to come, and I now stand free before you in this life once and for all for answering that ancient call.
